Full-Time Faculty Position
Department of Drama Creation and Application National University of Tainan (NUTN) Tainan, Taiwan The department of Drama Creation and Application at NUTN invites applicants for the post of Assistant Professors or above, beginning in either February or August of 2023. Candidates should have assistant professorship or a PhD in Theatre or related fields. If the applicant is an English-speaking teacher, his or her basic Chinese communication skills will be taken into consideration. Job Type: Assistant Professors (or above) Expected Starting Date: February 1st, 2023 or August 1st, 2023 (depending on the actual situation) Qualifications: - A Ph.D. in a relevant area of theatre.
- Developed English language skills sufficient to conduct courses in English (please see the point 4 of “Documents to be Submitted”).
- Candidates specialized in History of Western Drama and Theatre, Theories of Western Drama and Contemporary Theatre are preferred. Applicants with interdisciplinary expertise or practical experience in applied theater are especially welcomed.
Key Responsibilities: - Offer courses in the area of Western Drama, History of Western Drama and Theatre, and the related.
- Serve as a college mentor and an academic advisor.
- Cooperate with departmental affairs and perform partial administrative tasks according to the relevant regulations of NUTN.

Documents to be Submitted: - Please fill out the Application Form, and send a paper copy of the filled Application Form and an electronic copy (word file) on a CD-ROM (or USB flash drive).
- One photocopy of the following items: bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree diplomas, a teacher certificate, and citizen ID (both sides).
- If you earn your Ph.D. in countries other than Taiwan, please have your diploma and full academic transcript authenticated at Taiwan embassies and consulates, and provide Certificate of Entry and Exit Dates.
- If you have your Ph.D. from a non-English-speaking country or do not have overseas research/working experience, you must provide proof of teaching experience in English or proof of sufficient English language proficiency. If you have conducted courses in English, please also provide relevant documents.
Please submit the following documents in three copies: - Application Form: including your autobiography, photo, contact information, education, experience, area of specialization, list of publications (specified if published on SSCI and TSSCI journals), courses to be taught, and award records.
- Full academic transcripts of master's and doctoral degrees.
- Photocopy of documents of relevant experience.
- Doctoral dissertation.
- Significant monograph publications, monograph essays and journal articles (with cover catalogs of the journal or evidence on peer review), performed/published play scripts, photos of theater productions or DVD documentations of performances, etc.
- Those appointed as Assistant Professors may submit their doctoral dissertations as representative works. For those appointed as Associate Professor or above, at least one journal article, a monograph essay or a monograph published in the past five years must be submitted as a representative work.
- Research statement.
- Two recommendation letters (exempted for those who have already received professorship or associate professorship).
- Syllabi for courses you can offer.
- Other related materials.
