From October 26-28, the NUTN Department of Drama Creation and Application (DDCA) held 10th Regional Leadership: Vision and Prospects- 2012 International Conference on Drama Education and its Practices by inviting Professor Jonothan Neelands from Institute of Education, University of Warwick, UK, Dr. Madonna Stinson from School of Education and Professional Studies, Griffith University, Australia, Assistant Director Mr. Jeffrey Tan from Art & Community, National Arts Council, Singapore, and Taiwanese writer Mr. Huang Chun-Ming in Rongyu Campus. Professor Neelands is professioned at combining educational system with theatre resource. He is an experienced workshop leader and trainer with high reputation. Dr. Stinson’s expertise is on drama theory and pedagogy, curriculum theory, design implementation and experiment research. She has participated in National Curriculum Design and Research in Drama Education in Australia and Singapore. Furthermore, during this conference Mr. Chen and Mr. Huang shared their experience of drama development and practices in Singapore and Taiwanese children play and cultural education respectively. It is believed that all participants in this conference learn more perspective from these professors’ speeches. The DDCA of NUTN has developed the drama education in terms of theory and practices so greatly over the last decade. All staff of the DDCA will continue to devote themselves to promoting drama pedagogy and practices for the future.
