  • The National Museum of Taiwan History invited the NUTN Impresario Companion Theatre Troupe, conducted by the Professor Hsu Rey-Fang, Department of Drama Creation and Application (DDCA), and Atayal Yupas Watan to perform Rainbow Bridge Stage Drama in Permanent Exhibition where showed Our Land, Our People: The Story of Taiwan. The DDCA also interviewed Atayal Lawa Tawyu, 98 years old, and indicated that stripes face was proud to come through adult ceremony. For men it meant to be great hunters, for women it meant to be good housewives and good at weaving cloth. And the most important to wear stripes on face was to pass through the rainbow bridge to pray ancestral ritual which was the traditional religion of Atayal tribe. The Impresario Companion Theatre Troupe performed 4 sessions of Rainbow Bridge Stage Drama at 10:30 AM and 2:30 PM on January 29 and 30. There were totally 360 participants to take part in these 4 sessions. The leading feature of this stage dram was the interactions with audiences, showing how the actor Wa Li Si handled the conflict between traditional culture of Atayal tribe and indigenous education in Japanese colonial period and how he decided to wear stripes on his face to pass through the rainbow bridge. The actors in Rainbow Bridge Stage Drama wore Atayal traditional dress, Japanese kimono and military uniform to perform Atayal tribe song and dance, multimedia movie, the light shadow of the story of Hou Yi to bring all participants back the traditional culture of Atayal tribe in Japanese colonial period.
